David Muller, MD Biography

Title:
Marietta and Charles C. Morchand Chair in Medical Education at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine
Position:
Pro to the question "Should Euthanasia or Physician-Assisted Suicide Be Legal?"
Reasoning:

“For the sake of discussion I would vote pro but euthanasia is something that would have to be regulated very carefully by physicians and non-physicians as there is enormous potential for boh abuse and negligence. I think that for it to be successfully implemented in the U.S. would require a sea change in our values system and the extent to which we believe in the common good (as opposed to the rugged individualist cowboy mentality that we keep saying has made this country great). I think that you have to have enormous faith in your neighbors, and be willing to sacrifice for them (even if they’re strangers) for something like this to work.”
